About Us

Our Staff

Established at our current location since 1972, MacNair's is one of the Triangle’s oldest privately owned riding academies.   We have evolved into a full service riding facility with many and varied programs designed to meet the needs of riders with any level of experience.  We offer lessons through our riding school for children and adults Monday through Saturday in the Community Program for students 10 years of age and older.  The Pony School is specially designed for young riders ages 6 through 10 years.  First-time riders are mounted on horses or ponies known to be good and patient teachers. More experienced riders will enjoy the horses trained to more advanced levels. Lighted and/or indoor rings make it possible for lessons to continue throughout the year and in most weather conditions.   Additional riding and educational opportunities are available for actively enrolled students through our clinic, club, and horse show programs.

MacNair’s Country Acres, Inc. is also home to the boarding/training facility, Country Acres, which offers top-class training, instruction, and an active show calendar. Boarders

are involved in continuing education for horse and rider with access to lesson, clinic, club, and horse show programs. We offer a complete care horse facility for the active equestrian. Our facilities offer a variety of training opportunities from ring work to beautiful trail rides through the farm. Boarders are involved in an educational environment with access to lesson, clinic, club, and horse show programs.

We maintain an extremely active show schedule throughout the year for both

lesson students and boarders interested in hunters/jumpers or dressage. Many

shows are held here at the farm, not only to allow beginners the opportunity to

start their showing careers, but to give more seasoned riders a chance to keep

their skills sharp. More advanced riders have an extensive choice of traveling to

competitions at USEF “AA”, NCHJA, EHA, NCDCTA, and local and regional shows.

MacNair’s Country Acres, Inc. takes pride in its teaching staff.  All our staff is dedicated to continuing their equine education for both professional and personal development.  For more information on our staff and their qualifications please see the Staff Bios.

The farm is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9am–5pm and Saturday from 9 am–1 pm. Please contact us via email at office@macnairscountryacres.com or by telephone, 919-851-1118 to schedule a tour.

Come Enjoy this Great Lifetime Sport with Us!
