     Boarder Information

Country Acres is a professionally operated Horse Boarding Facility run by Nancy Welch Demus, Director and Melanie Rock, Instructor. Country Acres is primarily a Hunt Seat and Dressage facility dedicated to showing, enjoying horses and encourages riding as a lifetime sport. Country Acres delivers top quality boarding services and training.

Facilities Include:

  • Covered Riding Arena with rubber and sand footing (120' X 250')

  • Outdoor Sand Hunter Ring (150' X 250')

  • Permanent All-weather Dressage Arena (20M x 60M)

  • Scenic views and beautiful trails on 200 acres

  • 12' by 12' stalls

  • 2 indoor wash racks with hot & cold water

  • Lounge

  • Full size tack rooms with individual lockers

  • Adjoining facilities located at the MacNair lesson farm include:

  • Indoor riding arena with rubber footing and mirrors (120X70)

  • Outdoor Sand Hunter Ring (100X200)

  • Outdoor Grass Hunter Ring (200X300)

  • Cross-country Fences

  • Permanent Standard Size Grass Dressage Ring

Onsite scheduled activities:

  • NCDCTA Shows

  • Eastern Hunter Association Shows

  • 2 ANRC “Equitrials” per year

  • ANRC Testing site

  • 4 Schooling Shows per year  

Lessons and Training:

  • Individualized programs designed to meet rider or horse training goals

  • Private lessons

  • Training  

  • Gymnastic classes for developing horse and rider skills

  • Small group classes

  • Schooling & Coaching at shows

  • Professional Hunt Seat and Dressage Clinics with Visiting Instructors monthly

Full Care Services Include:

  • Individual feeding program to meet your horses’ nutritional needs

  • Regularly scheduled veterinarian and farrier visits

  • Group turn out

  • Blanketing during inclimate weather

  • Stall cleaning seven days per week

Special Services Available:          

  • Individualized blanketing needs

  • Additional supplements as needed

  • Trailer Service to shows or for emergencies

  • Holding services for vet and farrier

  • Small group and individual turn out options

Pasture Boarding:

MacNair’s Country Acres, Inc. offers a limited number of spaces to adults interested in pasture board.  All riding facilities are available to pasture boarders.
