Boarding/Training at Country Acres
The barn at Country Acres has 12’ x 12’ stalls, cleaned daily, and two indoor wash stalls with hot and cold water. We feed a grass-mix hay, pellets, and supply salt and a trace-mineral brick. Horses are turned out daily, weather permitting, and will be blanketed at night from November through March. Boarders have use of a tack locker and the barn’s comfortable heated/air-conditioned lounge. There are three rings at Country Acres, all dragged daily:
- an outdoor hunter ring (150' x 250') with sand footing and a complete course of jumps, changed several times a month - a permanent all weather dressage arena (20M x 60M) - a lighted covered ring (120' x 250') with rubber and sand footing and mirrors Boarders may also use the rings at MacNair’s Riding School, our adjoining facility, and ride the trails that wind around our scenic 280 acres. The Riding School has an indoor riding arena (120’ x 70’) with rubber footing and mirrors, a lighted sand hunter ring (100’ x 200’), a grass hunter ring (200’ x 300’), and a permanent standard sized grass dressage ring. - 12' x 12’ stall, cleaned daily - pellets fed twice a day (including supplements), hay fed three times a day - daily group turn-out (weather permitting) - blanketing at night (one or two blankets) November through March - $200 non-refundable lesson credit per month (not to accrue)

Our goals for riders and horses include safety, progression through education and, of course, fun. We provide customized training programs for horse and rider and welcome the opportunity to discuss your aspirations with you. Whether your goal is to compete at a certain level, or to improve your riding so that you enjoy your horse more, our staff has the experience to map out realistic benchmarks and help you design a program to meet your expectations. We closely monitor horses and riders so that they progress at their own pace. Moving up too quickly risks loss of confidence. Moving up too slowly invites boredom. We feel that longevity of your career and that of your horse is paramount. Lessons and training rides for your horse, part of Total Care Board, may be arranged so that you and your horse gain the maximum benefit from our talented staff. Country Acres offers many opportunities for showing, from on-site shows to local and regional “AA” shows. Our riders are extremely active and successful competitors at all levels. Please see our calendar for shows we attend as well as those held at the farm Country Acres Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 919-851-1171 countryacres@macnairscountryacres.com Hours may vary based on seasonal changes, weather conditions, and/or holiday schedules.
