Since 1972, MacNair’s Country Acres has been a premier equestrian destination in Raleigh, NC.
We offer a variety of services to meet the needs of equestrians of all ages and skill levels.
Horseback Riding Lessons
Our trainers teach horseback riding lessons in the hunter/jumper tradition. We additionally have dressage trainers on staff. This ensures that riders who wish to may advance in their training with a foundation in dressage.
Beginner riders learn at our Legacy Barn facility. Here, reliable school horses give riders confidence as they develop foundational skills. These schoolmasters carry riders from their first walk to jumping small cross-rails jumps.
Intermediate and advanced riders graduate to our Country Acres facility. This is nicknamed ‘The Top Barn’ by our riders. Here, riders continue developing their skills while riding more challenging and athletic horses.
Our Facility
More than 100 horses call our farm home. We offer a variety of flexible board options. These range from full-service board with turnout to self-care pasture board. Every horse can be happy at MacNair’s.
Riders in our lesson and board program have five lighted riding arenas available to them. This includes two covered rings. With expansive grounds covering over 200 acres, our facility boasts many obstacles for horses and riders outside of the arena. This includes miles of trails, fields, natural water obstacles, and cross-country jumps.
More Riding Opportunities
Many riders are content to remain in our lesson program. However, we have a variety of other offerings for those who can’t get enough time in the saddle.
Youth Clubs
MacNair’s hosts two youth clubs. Both offer membership to elementary through high school aged riders. Learn more about our Interscholastic Equestrian Association Team and our 4H Horse Club here.
Lease Opportunities
Riders interested in progressing beyond our lesson program should consider our lease program.
Horse Shows
Riders in our lesson program can take part in our annual Schooling Show series. These shows allow riders to experience horse showing in a friendly environment. While there are plenty of ribbons for riders to earn, the focus of these shows is safety and sportsmanship, not competition.
Riders who board a horse at MacNair’s are eligible to attend off-barn horse shows with our Head Trainer. Our Show Team travels throughout North Carolina to attend rated USEF shows.
